West Virginia University Visitors Center Remodeling (2012)

These are some pictures of the process of the major renovations to the West Virginia University Visitors Center that took place from January to March in 2012.  The WVU Visitors Center is the main recruiting portal for prospective students and their families.  There is a theater, student portrait posts that is touch screen interactive with student profiles, RFID desks that when a WVU majors book is placed on the table top the major is displayed with a freshman syllabus and courses available that is interactive and can be emailed to a cell phone, and a large map table with the three Morgantown campuses illuminated with building pictures and campus building or area descriptions displayed on the digital signage above the map table.  Guided tours are conducted for bus loads of students each day and parents can bring their student children in for personal campus tours.

The WVU Visitors Center hosts more than 1,000 prospective students per week for campus tours.  We use X2OMedia Xpresenter as the software platform for more than 100 digital signs, wayfinding and video walls across our three campuses in Morgantown, WV and also use Kinect technology for the campus map table and the RFID student majors desktop projections in the WVU Visitors Center.
