Create a Digital Signage Network (30. Vertical Signage Examples)

West Virginia University Student Organizations

Below are just a few examples of content pages for vertical aspect ratio digital signage we use for the 300+ WVU Student Organizations on our campuses.  The concept with this particular deployment is that we encourage the individual student organizations to design their OWN posters for their organizations to let the student body know of their activities and how students can become involved in a myriad of extra-curricular activities during their time on campus.  These content pages are designed in a 720 X 1280 aspect ratio at 300 dpi in jpeg format.  The vertical digital signage also carries the standard campus emergency messaging features 24/7/365.

ONLY student organizations content is contained within this custom loop of information that plays at specific locations on campus and the goal is to have the students take some ownership in their student organization and to design their own messages and branding elements.  If the student organization does not have a member that has the design capabilities, we assign one of our digital signage team designers to assist them in creating their content poster.  Our content design criteria for student created content is much more liberal than what we place on the standard horizontal digital signage we use for institutional messaging elsewhere.  In other words, we give the students a little more latitude in their own design as long as the message is clear, concise and appropriate.  (All Student Organizations messages go through the normal approval process for appropriateness and are ultimately approved at the managerial level by the Director of Student Organizations before they are released “live” to the digital signage.)
