WVU students use LocaModa for Digital Signage interaction!

For place-based social media content management options, West Virginia University has used LocaModa products to great success.  We have used Wiffiti, Jumbli and FourSquare regularly and have been quite pleased with the student engagement opportunities we have maximized.  (Jumbli and FourSquare are inserted as features in our main loop of information that plays in the Mountainlair student union and on our Cable TV Channel 7 into student residence halls and dining facilities.  Each “plays” for about 3 minutes in each iteration of the loop.  Wiffiti is inserted into specific site-based custom loops based upon a special event at that site in a effort to increase enjoyable student engagement with our signage.)

Within seconds and using Wiffiti, over 5,000 incoming freshmen took over our two 12-square foot projection screens at the WVU Coliseum during the 2010 Fall Semester New Student Welcome event as they texted their excitement of becoming the newest Mountaineers!

A regular feature on our main loop of content information is the FourSquare application at the WVU Mountainlair (student union) where students vie to become “The Mayor of The Mountainlair”.

In the future we plan to utilize additional LocaModa content to increase our student involvement with our 70+ screen digital signage that span three WVU campuses across three miles of Morgantown, WV.  (See LocaModa links below…)
